Sexy Beasts

With Debbie Simon

Halloween is finally here, and that means candy, fun costumes, haunted houses and a prime excuse to try to scare the bejeezus out of your friends.
It’s also prime time for watching your favorite horror flicks full of masked serial killers, evil vampires, hungry werewolves and other monsters out for a bite or two. And while those films are always good for a chill or two, they can also evoke another kind of response altogether. We don’t know if it’s the proverbial propensity to love a bad boy (or girl, as the case may be) even when you know they’re really not good for you, but while we wouldn’t want to be bosom buddies with Dracula or the local witch some of those monsters still have a certain … appeal.
We’ve rounded up a list of some of the sexiest beasts to appear in our nightmares over the years:

Santanico Pandemonium from “From Dusk Till Dawn”
Evil never looked so good (or danced so well). If you’re going to die, getting sucked dry by Salma Hayek wouldn’t be such a bad way to go, would it?

Imhotep from “The Mummy” and “The Mummy Returns”
He’s not exactly eye candy when first raised back from the dead, but we can think of a few good uses for the kind of intensity and focus the ancient Egyptian powerhouse demonstrates. Arnold Vosloo knows how to smolder.

Jennifer from “Jennifer’s Body”
She may have been an evil, man-eating succubus, but with Megan Fox in the title role, it wasn’t hard for this movie to make cannibalism look good.

Lestat from “Interview with a Vampire”
Because even pasty Brad Pitt is hot.

Sil from “Species”
We’re pretty sure we know a few guys who would be more than happy to help this sizzling hot alien with her mission.

Lawrence Talbot from “The Wolfman”
The only think hotter than a bad boy is a reluctant bad boy. And Benicio del Toro does sexy and tortured better than just about anyone.

Queen Akasha from “Queen of the Damned”
The ancient mother of all vampires may not have achieved her goal to rule over a world dominated by women and be worshipped as a goddess, but Aaliyah certainly looked the part.

Dracula from “Dracula 2000”
We know, we know, another vampire. But would this list be complete without the original? Besides, it’s not our fault Hollywood likes its bloodsuckers to be pretty. And a little bit of Gerard Butler makes any day better.

Darkness from “Legend”
He’s far from the best-looking entry on this list, but there’s something about this evil, horned guy that makes us understand how Lili could be tempted to go over to the dark side. Maybe it’s the voice and the way those promises roll off his silky tongue, even if you know they’re all lies. Besides, Tim Curry can sell just about anything, even a sulky devil.

Gareth Goblin King from “Labyrinth”
Okay, so this isn’t really a scary movie, but Gareth is the goblin king, so we say it counts. And we totally would have taken him up on his offer to stay, ridiculous 80s hair and all.
